The Case Against Economic Development Takings

The assignment given me by the organizers of this symposium was to discuss the general philosophy of property rights and the two most important recent public use takings decisions: Kelo v. City of New London, and the Michigan Supreme Court’s overruling of the notorious Poletown case in County of Wayne v. Hathcock.
